Design That's Easy as A-B-C
When most people think of design elements, individual letters aren’t the first things that come to mind. Sure, selecting an appropriate typeface to complement the overall look or feel of a design is essential. But letters themselves (and the words they create) tend to be more the domain of literary artists.
If you stop to think about it, though, letters truly are visual elements. By themselves, each represents a particular sound or group of sounds. Grouped together, they represent various thoughts and ideas. Even more to the point, though, each letter has its own unique set of shapes. The S, for instance, has its sweeping curves, and the A has its crisp lines and angled peak.
With that in mind, can an entire design focus around a single letter form? Can an individual letter represent an entire idea on its own? Could the letter V, for instance, become a visual metaphor for anxiety? Or the letter X somehow display order? Take a look at the designs pictured here, and see for yourself. As you’ll see, each is based around a single letter form, which has been used to convey the desired emotion or idea.
So, the next time you find yourself facing a blank screen, with no idea how to proceed, remember these words... and, more importantly, the letters used to make them.

Podcast Marketing
Forward thinking is a necessity for businesses who want to compete in today's "on-demand" society. There are new marketing rules when it comes to reaching an audience. Customers prefer to consume their media choices on their own schedule, making mobile media solutions such as podcasts a powerful tool for many businesses.
A podcast is a multimedia digital file that is available on the internet for downloading to a cell phone, portable media player, computer, etc. Originally created as a way to listen to audio files online, podcasting has evolved to include images and video. Here are a few tips on how to create an effective podcast your audience will look forward to watching:
Prepare in advance. Consider details such as scheduling, hosting, themes, content, and topic rotation, etc.
- Keep them short and sweet. Minimize fluff and focus on quality content.
- Create consistency, offering titles and podcasts in the same formats and similar lengths. But remember the quality of podcasts is more important than quantity.
- Offer variety – sometimes the dynamic of two male and female voices can prevent monotony.
- Keep your content fresh yet timeless. Offer engaging information that won't become stale next week.
- Consider adding some music for intros, background or transition material to polish your podcast.
- Offer an archive of previous podcasts for those who can't get enough of your content.
Often a blend of non-tradition and traditional marketing is the most effective way to reach your audience. Let us know if we can help you spread your message today!

Info Request Cards
While many people will go online to seek information, a large percentage of your audience may still prefer the old fashioned route and prefer to have information and marketing materials mailed to them. An easy way to meet the needs of those customers is by offering info request cards. Here are a few tips to make your info request cards valuable to your audience:
- Info request cards can be distributed in a variety of ways, such as in mailings, as tear-away options, as handouts at information desks, tradeshows and other events, etc.
- Streamline the request process by offering a self-addressed postage-paid postcard or envelope.
- Allow recipients to specify the type of information they want receive. Offer check boxes that allow them to choose between "send me a catalog only," "please add me to your mailing list," or "other" with space for them to write a request.
- Remember the less information you request the more likely people are to submit a request.
- Reinforce your brand name and logos to create recognition and build trust.
- Ask if readers would like to subscribe to your e-newsletter, email messages, and more. While some many not feel comfortable giving out email addresses or other information, it doesn't hurt to ask and can help build your customer database.
If you're looking for creative, yet cost-effective ways to reach your audience, such as postcard newsletters or self-mailing brochures, we're only a phone call away!
